Returns & Exchanges
Returns
We will accept returns for items returned within 7 days of shipment receipt if accompanied with the original invoice, for either a full refund or store credit, minus shipping charges. Please follow the return instructions on the invoice included with your package. Items that have been visibly worn or damanged will not be accepted. Packages must be securely wrapped and returned prepaid by the purchaser. We recommend insuring the package for the value of the item(s): we are not responsible for items lost in shipping.
Once we receive your package, your refund will be processed in the original form of payment within 7 business days. You will be notified via e-mail when the transaction has been completed. Please note that your banking institution may require additional days to process and post the refund to your account.
Exchanges
If you want an exchange, we will process it as a return and issue a refund and you can make a new purchase through the website. The same rules for returns will apply for exchanges.

Shipping & Handling
Gift Wrap
We gift box all items. Our gift box service includes a padded, white structured paper gift box with our signature logo. The item will be wrapped in an organza pouch inside the box. You are asked at checkout to include a gift message if you desire. This message is printed on a gift card and included with the gift box. The recipient will receive a blank invoice with the return form.
Shipping
We ship all domestic (US) orders via United Parcel Service (UPS). Transit times range from 2-6 business days. If you would like your shipment to be expedited, you can choose from Ground, 2-Day Air or Next Day Air shipping. UPS Ground is not available to Hawaii or Alaska. Please note that UPS does not deliver to P.O. boxes.
*For international orders, there is a choice between UPS and the United States Postal Service (USPS). We will email your shipping pricing options upon receipt of your order. Please note that the USPS does not insure jewelry shipments to some international destinations. Kim&Maki are not responsible for for items lost in shipping.
When your items are shipped, we will send you an e-mail to confirm shipment along with a tracking number. Because some of our pieces are handmade, some items may be ready before others. Some items may take up to 1 week to ship (though most will ship within 24 hours). If we cannot ship your item within 7 business days, we will notify you via e-mail with an estimated delivery date. We will ship the item(s) to you as they are ready. You will not be charged extra for multiple shipments.
Sales Tax
U.S. Domestic Orders
Sales tax will be added for all orders shipped within New York state (8.375%).
International Orders - Customs
All taxes, fees, tariffs, import fees, and surcharges levied by destination countries are the responsibility of the customer. Please check with your local customs office to request the details of these charges. UPS assumes responsibility for such charges and bills the recipient accordingly. Kim&Maki does not receive any money from customs and import fees. We are required by law to disclose the full value of the package contents and cannot alter this value.
If you refuse to pay customs charges on an incoming shipment, you will be responsible for the original shipping cost to you and any duties, taxes and/or customs charges incurred on the shipment, plus the cost of returning the package to Kim&Maki. This amount will be deducted from your merchandise refund.
Repairs
Repairs will be made free of charge for up to 3 months after purchase. Please contact us to obtain a Repair Code before shipping the item(s) back to us. Packages must be securely wrapped and returned prepaid by the purchaser. Again, we recommend insuring the package for the value of the item(s): we are not responsible for items lost in shipping.
Coupons, Discounts & Promotions
Discounts and promotions are good on in-stock, nonsale merchandise. Discounts and promotions do not apply to sale merchandise or pre-ordered merchandise, nor can they be combined. Only one coupon code may be redeemed per order. We will automatically choose the lesser price (greater discount) if promotional codes are combined or used on sale merchandise.
Our Privacy Statement
We neither sell nor share your information with outside companies or third parties.
When you purchase from our online store, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card information. You provide this information so we can process and ship your order. We respect your privacy by not selling or sharing this information.
We encourage you to sign-up for our e-mailing list. These letters provide you with advanced notice of store sales, new merchandise, and other store-related events. But, of course, you have the freedom to add or remove your name from our list at any time.
Online Security
Your credit card is completely safe.
Protecting your information is our highest priority. We have developed several safeguards to keep your information completely confidential. To proceed to checkout, you must enter your e-mail address and create a password. The checkout process itself employs Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)* technology to insure your safety.
*Secure Sockets Layer encrypts your order information and sends it to a secure server, making it impossible for that information to be decoded by a party outside of the store you shop with.
Furthermore, only our store will have your information; other members of the Modern Retail community will not have access to your information unless you decide to shop with them.
To check the security of your connection during checkout, look for the unbroken key or closed lock at the bottom of your browser window. This indicates SSL is active.
Shopping Online
To add an item to your bag, simply click the add to bag button next to it. (Items you put in your bag will not be bought by you until you have completed the checkout process.)
To remove an item from your bag, simply click the remove link next to the item you wish to discard.
To view what is in your bag at any time, click the "shoppingBag" link in the page header.
To purchase what you've selected, click on your shoppingBag and click "checkout". Follow the three simple steps to purchase your items.
Once we have confirmed your order, an account for you is automatically established for the Modern Retail community of stores.
To access your account in the future, click the "myAccount" button in the header of any page and enter the e-mail address and password you created at checkout. (If you have not been through checkout, but would like to create an account, simply click on my account and follow the steps to create a new account.)
